I think there needs to be a counter play option, though. I mean, it's an achievement to take the middle, but after 1 round of spawning later, you are significantly stronger than everyone else and holding it becomes fairly easy, meaning all the other players are basically just waiting it out until the final deathmatch.

I think there should be some way for the corn to be 'destroyed', or at least disabled, to give an option to players who go for the more cautious, planned route rather than brute-forcing the cornucopia and camping it.
