Tech giant Microsoft is said to be nearing closing a $2 billion+ dollar deal with Mojang. More details here http://www.cnet.com/news/microsoft-said-to-be-nearing-2b-plus-deal-for-minecraft-maker/

What do you think of this? Mojang is an "indie company," that made an "indie game." However this game is now the third most sold game in the world. Mojang still refers to Minecraft as an indie game, however it is much more than that, identifiable by the communities it's created, social media sites it's taken over, by the success and amount of ports it has had, and of course, the Lego sets. Truth is, Minecraft isn't Indie anymore, also credible by that EULA mess previously this year. However, bottom line is that Microsoft may buy Mojang, so I've come to here to ask for your opinions on this. Do do you think that Mojang will sell themselves? Will it corrupt Mojang and break the game? Will Microsoft succeed with Mojang in the video game field, specifically consoles? Are you looking forward to this or not?

Mojang is passing hands too many times. Minecraft is just going to go to s**t eventually.

I believe that what really made Minecraft extraordinary was Mojang's humbleness, and that aspect will completely vanish if this deal goes through....

I swear if I see DLC's for blocks or items bad stuff is going to happen.

If this happens, I will stop playing MC. Mojang's humor, easter eggs, and humbleness (described by Mam) will vanish if this deal goes through. That is what makes MC fun. Microsoft needs to stop buying all the companies for their social status. Enough is enough.

I'm pretty sure BebopVox made a video saying that Mojang is not going to accept the deal.
I think this is it. Sorry if it's not the correct one.

I feel that while Microsoft purchasing Mojang could have some positive effects, it's also going to have large negative effects on the community of Minecraft players.

As we all know, people hate change. Raffle voting, MCSG V2, the new EULA, everything. They hate it at first, but after a few months they accept it. Six months from now, us Minecraft players will probably have either quit or gotten used to it.

If Mojang accepts the deal given by Microsoft, which I believe there's a high chance that they will, I certainly hope that there are some conditions:
- Mojang staff get to continue to work on it if they want to, in their own way. What made Minecraft.... Minecraft, is the creativity and fun that could be had. If a large, common-core company such as Microsoft comes and takes over and says "We're going to take this game and turn it like the rest of ours", soon Minecraft might only be able to run on Windows, and on top of that will need like 8 GBs of RAM to run on more than 20 FPS. Wouldn't that really suck?
- Servers are not largely impacted. They've went through one large bump with the EULA earlier this year, and don't need another one.

Oh crap, I have to go to school O_O

I doubt Mojang would get themselves into a deal where they'd lose their identity as a company. That doesn't seem like them. We really don't know how much involvement Microsoft will have on Minecraft, it may not be a whole lot.

The game will certainly improve, now we are moving forward with unnecessary updates with added unnecessary, if the creator of the game does not want to develop it to say that the game is dying, this acquisition will serve to give a big turning point in this game.

I'm like late for school, so all I'll say is no. It wouldn't be beneficial. Mojang, has their own 'style' if you wanna put it that way.
