Lilypads in chests?

Anything to do with placing blocks will probably result in a bad idea because there is always some sort of advantage. As for the lily pads, you would need enough to actually keep up with your enemy. So let's say you have 3. You use those to get close to him, but then your right back to where you started, in a boring water chase with no lily pads left so this wouldn't really help you out too much.

Also, it's not like it would change the fight that much, and it's not even like the person placing them is the only one that can use them.

Interesting idea but I'd have to say no as lily pads aren't as useful as you think in water fights, I find it to be very ineffective. Wouldn't make much of a difference in a fight, just my opinion.
