Sg1: wild dogs at night everywhere but middle
Sg2: nasuea effect if you go to high on buildings
Sg3: after refill the water level rises 1 block every 1 minute
Sg4: a lot of buildings catch on fire
Sg5: must get inside every 10 minutes to avoid freezing (or that thing with freezing testicles)
The water and fire things would probably be pretty laggy.

I'd say they couldn't make a separate effect for each map , but they could have different effects for different groups of maps.
The snow maps ( teweran1 , SG1 , SG5 , solar frost... etc) : When it snows it deteriorates your armor.
The hot maps (SG3 , breeze , holiday resort..etc): Your hunger depletes faster due to the heat.
The high-altitude maps (Treacherous,rugged,SG2 etc...) You get a nausea effect when you reach a certain block-height.

Ofc there would be some maps that don't fit into categories and would need their own effects (like moonbase's gravity for example) and this is just a general idea / suggestion on what could be added.

Ok, so using hobo1955 's system, I made a list of each map, and each cool feature in each one.

SG1: After refill, evil dogs fill the map (except the corn), also at night the neatherack catches on fire
SG2: You get a nausea effect when you reach a certain block-height
SG3: The water rises around the map OR The heat makes it that you get slowness for 10 seconds after sprinting 20 seconds
SG4: There should be cars added around random spots that explode every once in a while
SG5: When it snows it deteriorates your armor
Ancient Japan: Your hunger depletes faster, because asian food won't fill you up!
Solar Frost: The coldness makes you swing slower
Breeze Island: The heat makes it that you get slowness for 10 seconds after sprinting 20 seconds
Freeze Island: When it snows it deteriorates your armor
Demons Breeze: The heat makes it that you get slowness for 10 seconds after sprinting 10 seconds
Valleyside University: On the football field, you have speed 1
Holiday Resort: The heat makes it that you get slowness for 10 seconds after sprinting 20 seconds
Fortress Pyke: The water rises around the map
Fallen Empire: Nothing
Lost Ridge: You get a nausea effect when you reach a certain block-height
Teweran SG: When it snows it deteriorates your armor
Teweran SG2: The heat makes it that you get slowness for 10 seconds after sprinting 20 seconds
Kharmunrah: The heat makes it that you get slowness for 10 seconds after sprinting 20 seconds
Moonlight Lake: The water rises around the map (except the center)
Wyverns Wake: The dragons spit out ghast-like fire balls randomly
Insanity Cause: The water rises around the map
Survival Kingdom: Nothing
Asia Games: There's a nuke and the map permanently gets deleted from all servers (SERIOUSLY HATE THAT MAP)
Moonbase 9: The loss of gravity thingy
Treacherous Heights: You get a nausea effect when you reach a certain block-height
Rugged lands: You get a nausea effect when you reach a certain block-height
Fortune Island: The heat makes it that you get slowness for 10 seconds after sprinting 20 seconds
Hell Games: wild dogs spawn in the woods after refill
Lost Mine: when you reach the end of a tunnel you get poisoned for loss of fresh air

Perhaps for Survival Kingdom and Fallen Empire, a barage of arrows randomly attack at certain points in the game? Or perhaps the edition of random villagers that you can trade with.

Seems like a really nice and interesting idea that could be implemented into MCSG, but (as previously stated) this requires a lot of individual work on particular maps and could be extremely buggy. Also, if a mistake were to be made (e.g: Jump height on Moonbase 9 causes half a heart fall damage) it could really ruin some of the gameplay on the maps - slowing down on snowy maps just because you don't have hot food basically means an instant death if you aren't armoured up (you won't be able to run away). I like the concept of the idea and it COULD work with a bit of working on. All in all, though, Minecraft is a relatively simplistic game and I believe that the simplicity is what attracts the majority of the players and community; overcomplicating it may ruin this. We don't want to start an Arma version of Minecraft xD Maybe a poll should be given in this case.

To be honest, it's too easy to win the survival games. Once you've got that iron sword and some iron armor the game's in the bag, for some it's in the bag once they've got that stone sword. Just these slight additions would make winning that much more rewarding and surviving that much harder. I'm sure a few testing servers could be made, you could even offer some people the ability to apply to test it.

and if they don't like it it won't be added.
