Hotbar problemo.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.
After many minutes of searching the interwebs and watching YouTube videos, I have come to the conclusion that my Pvp style is somewhat...
Unusual.
Anyways I need help making my hotbar/ sprint hot key more easy to access without breaking my hands in the process.
MY SETUP:
Slot 1: Melee.
Slot 2: rod.
Slot 3: f&s
Slot4: bowspamMLGproTrickShot
Slot5: grapple gapple etc...
Sprint hotkey Q
my problem is that when I try to quick swap between rod and sword, I have to take my finger off of the sprint hotkey. This means if I'm chasing or being chased and I run into an obstacle I will have trouble.
It is also massively awkward to switch between hotbar slots with 1 and two especially given my PC setup.
Could anyone suggest a saviour for Me?

PS: I have tried huahwi and gravey4rd's etc. Setup and they don't seem to work for me.

Maybe put your sprint hotkey as shift? It's how I have it and it took a while to get used to but its worth it in my opinion :3!

Okay I did try that today but maybe I need to persist with it!
It's kinda awkward to start with but I guess it would work better.

I use CAPSLOCK as sprint key (it's right next to WASD, then it's perfect) and have
1: melee
2:bow
3:rod
4:fns
5:gapple
6:food
7:food
8:boat/food
9:fns that i scroll

i've also bind 8 to my c so that its easier to hotkey and it works just fine

numbers for all except of 8, which i've bind to "c"
if you want a scroller setup, one that works in the follwing
1:melee
2:fns
3:bow
4:fns/gapple
5:gapple/food
6:food
7:food
8:fns/gapple
9:rod

Well, through the junk you can see :

Hotbar

Slot 1: Fns
Slot 2: Sword
Slot 3: Fishing rod
Slot 4: Bow
Slot 5: Gapples
Slot 6-8: Good Food
Slot 9: Usually another Fns

Inventory

Top left in that order: Flint, Sticks, Feathers, Arrows, Boat

Top Right: Gold, Iron, Diamond

I use the 'Right shift' for sprint (Yes, no joke)

and I use 'c' for Optifine zoom.

Everything else is normal.

One more question:
Is it possible to be top level using a scroller?
Just I'm really not used to Insta switching and I find it very difficult to get used to.
IF it is that is fine I will just have to get used to it!

It seems most people use a similar order of hotbar I guess they just switch differently depending on the person.

thing is
you have to use a setup that fits your playstyle
doesnt matter how weird it is
if you play well with it
use it
and 1 more thing, i reccomand you to try and learn how to hotkey, although it may seem difficult at start
if you ever quit mcsg, it will help you massivly in other pvp minigames
