Alright, I hope I can help you, try the following;
1. Use a lower-resolution resource pack; this can reduce lag.
2. Make sure Minecraft is using your dedicated graphics card, and if so, ensure it is updated.
3. Make sure your PC is not overheating; or above 70-80 degrees, overheating can drastically reduce your PC's performance, and framerate.
4. Ensure you have OptiFine installed, and if so, toggle through each of the 'Chunk Loading' and 'Advanced OpenGL' setting, try each and use the best one, personally, I use:
Chunk Loading: Smooth
Advanced OpenGL: Fancy
5. Allocate as much as RAM, as possible, to Minecraft.
6. Overclock your graphics card; well, this is only if you're issue is serious, but if this is just genuine lag spikes, then there is no need to overclock.

~Thanks, do not hesitate to reply if you have any questions.

I have a few questions for you.
  • Does this happen immediately after you start playing minecraft? Or does it happen after you've been playing for a bit?
  • Have you tried updating your java?
Updated java, resolved. Thanks a lot!
