What are the specs of your computer? Are you using optifine because it can really help.

- Make sure that you have a decent amount of RAM allocated to Minecraft.
Since you have 8 total, I'd say it's safe to allocate 2-4 GBs to Minecraft.
(You can copy and paste "-Xmx4G -Xmx4G" if you want)

- Do you have a graphics card? If so, is it properly plugged in and in the right slot?
If the video card has a separate power cord, double-check to make sure that it's properly plugged in.

- Check your settings, get OptiFine.
Fairly self-explanatory.

- How long has the issue been happening? What do you usually get? Is this a new or old computer?

- What are your specs? Even if you have 32 GBs of RAM like MoLoToV, if you have a 1 GHz processor, your train isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I copied and pasted that little code thing and it comes up with Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

I have a laptop, so I am not sure I can check that. I know that I have a graphics card.

I already had it before xD

It just started happening when I got my monitor today. I usually get around 60 Fps. I got this computer about a year ago.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4200 Cpu @ 1.60Hz 2.30 GHz
Installed Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.89 GB usable)
System Type: 64-bit Operating system, x64-based processor

WHAT. MoLoToV IS THIS TRUE?!

Also, I am not much use to this thread, but it might be how much your monitor uses (Specs wise) if you got it today. Close out background programs like Skype, Web browser, ect. that you don't need open at the immediate time.

Yeap, kinda overkill http://i.imgur.com/TiNukNe.png

could you click on the windows button and type run and press enter? It should open up a little screen like this :

Once you are there, type in dxdiag It'll open a screen like this :

Please go the the second tab ( Screen 1 ) and tell me what graphics card you got.

I'm also suggesting you to install optifine and allocated 2GB of ram to minecraft, but it's most likely your graphics card that's causing the problem.

If you haven't done this already, I recommend doing some of the more obvious things such as restarting your laptop, closing all programs, and doing a virus scan or something of the like. Also, how old is your computer? Is there the slightest chance that your computer just pooped out? That would be unfortunate but sadly it happens

xD Not really , i can't play under 70 fps :(
It can be hard playing with less than 30 fps if you're used to high frame rates.
For example, I had a macbook pro late 2008 until just recently. It got about 40 fps maximum. I got jealous when people were complaining about only getting 100 FPS, but I didn't see anything terribly wrong with it. I've upgraded to a better computer, and I now get at most 1500FPS (on a singleplayer superflat with lowest settings). If I try playing at 40 FPS cap, I feel like dying.

TL;DR, you'll get used to it.
