I recommend that they add game makers to MCSG. Not to kill people but to change the way the game works by bringing players near each other, setting fire near players, etc. It could be a system where there are four game makers and each game maker is assigned to six player. Each player could be punished at once. One person could be like the head game maker and scare people towards each other with fire, lava, etc. I believe that game makers would add a lot of thrill to the game as well as make it more interesting.

Please leave comments and opinions but do NOT trash it. I love constructive feedback, not a complete let-down.

Unfortunately, this would involve a gamemaker to be in every single match all the time. Short of coding in a custom plugin that imitates Quarter Quell-effects, this would be very hard to replicate - and not as fun - without actual individuals playing the Gamemaker role. Also, as one could see in the very first Hunger Gaimes hosted by iHasCupQuake, the GameMakers turned out to be a bit biased.

Yes, it has its advantages. But the MCGamer community seems to have rightly relegated this feature to use in privately hosted, non-MCG affiliated, Hunger Games only.

Game makers are in every hunger games book; in fact they are an important part. Getting people to be a game maker wouldn't be hard because they are already filled far before it actually started. I understand the coding would be very hard, but MCGamer have great developers. I see where it may get biased, but if they coded it to where each player could get the same punishment as others. Thanks for feedback, and I know this would be difficult and tedious.

First of all, yes it appears that we do have at least some developers competent in Java pertaining to Minecraft and the MCSG plugin in particular. However, adding something such as this is less a suggestion and more of a full-time project that would massively change the impact of the game. Right now, though I can't claim to speak fully for the developers, they have their hands full at the moment - not only with real life affairs - but also with fixing the day-to-day bugs and delegating appropriate administrator- and senior-ranked staff to handle the drama that they receive on their forum walls on a daily basis.

Secondly, aside from the developers' personal agendas and schedules, ChadTheDJ has made it clear that he has a vision for where MCG is going with its Survival Games aspect. Gamemakers, special "power-up" items (such as Nexus-style snowballs and Mineplex-style barricades) have basically been viewed as "breaking the spirit of the actual Hunger Games." While I have extensively read and re-read, watched and re-watched, the Hunger Games book trilogy and two-thirds-complete movie series, you have to consider that this is the internet now, not a perfect book or movie. There are certain things that are - with present technology being the way it is - rendered impossible. Frankly, MCG is just not ready for a Gamemaker aspect yet. Give it ten to twenty years and suggest it again then. :)

I know that it would take a while for it to happen, but we could hire more developers to speed up the process. I know the idea seems lengthy and everlasting, but anythings possible.

This is clearly NOT constructive! Please remove of this comment.
Or he could, oh I don't know, edit his comment to make it more appropriate and give detailed feedback about why he opposed it? Don't reject him outright. Just redirect him along the "proper" path.

It's really not that easy to find developers who meet all the requirements which Chad is looking for.

I have the necessary skills in Java and have examples of plugins I've either coded, helped code, or proofread. However, seeing as I wasn't necessarily the most likeable fellow and that I'm a bit odd to some, I can't really volunteer for the position - though it has been suggested to me that I apply several times.

At any rate, it's not necessarily how many developers MCGamer has. It's how much time those devs have to actually sit down and work on a particular project or fix a particular problem. We could have 100 developers who are all inactive. When Mooman Bill was a dev, he was a one-man beast. :p
