Hi there people of MCSG, I'm Berry, and I like to make Avatars. I've been making them for my friends for a few weeks now. Here's two examples of my work:

These are quite good. It's rare to see hand-drawn avatars, and even rarer to see decent ones, let alone good ones. And the background images are purdy.

Any extra info: You said you can't do animals, does that apply to animal skins? If yes, then don't force yourself to try this one. (Only the head is animal-like, the rest of the body is a suit that I customized.)
Also, if you want a likespam/subscribe or something as a thank-you, just let me know
