Deathmatch Timer

I was playing a game, it went to 2vs1, i made it 1vs1 and i know i was about to win, i was about to shoot him and it changed to death match early and it screwed me over. Any ideas why the game brought me and my enemy to deathmatch early like within the 60 secs. I died when the death match timer went to 0.

Perhaps you or the server lagged and didn't display the timer correctly.

I've seen people kill their opponent right after the death match timer finishes and restarts the server, and it doesn't count as a victory, it happened to me once :/ This though is unusual.

Like it was 55 secs left till death match and it tped the me and my enemy to corn for deathmatch, soo early and makes me lose.

Shown here, I heard that since the sand keeps falling down, if the timer hits 0, and if the sand already fell, the remaining people will fall in lava.
