In 1.7 as we all know bsm was implemented.
So what's the point of this now?

If BSM was implemented, then we are they continuing to update mod? The mod still contains features that Minecraft itself does not have. Let's just leave it at that. Accept it.

And why be so concerned whether BSM is allow or not? You have your sprint key in 1.7 you should not be caring if it is allowed or not.

Anyway gamemode 3 will fix this

1. BSM was not implemented, but a "Sprint Bind Key" was. There is a difference.
2. Better Sprint Mod is still a 3rd party modification, and is often associated with "Hacks". It is still better than the sprint key; that is, more effective at sprinting in PvP.
3. Just for my own curiosity, what's gamemode 3?

BSM is not allowed, so whatever can be done to stop it, should be done.

Well now there's no point of banning BSM users as you can do it with 1.7.2. So you can't be banned for just using the normal minecraft, right?

In multiplayer there is no difference other than the toggle crouch option which in all honestly does not benefit you or give you an advantage in PvP.

The mod will still continue to be updated for its single player features such as, sprinting backwards and sideways.

Also, one more thing, what if someone has BSM installed, but they still choose to double tap? There's no way of actually telling if they are using it, since BSM and 1.7.2 are nearly identical when it comes to sprinting.

1.7.2:
This update allows players to bind a key to pres or hold down which will make the user sprint. If they press it once it is much like just double tapping 'w'. Yet, if they hold it down, they will continue to sprint even after running into a block.

BSM (Better Sprint Mod):
This mod basically allows you to tap a button once so that your sprint is always on. You do not have to hold one key down to continue to sprint. This mod also allows a user to sprint backwards and sideways. 1.7.2 does not.

As you can see they are two very different things, and obviously BSM is still a kickable offence. Players will need to either continue to double tap 'w' (Like me) or hold down their bind key. I highly doubt that the staff will allow BSM on MCSG. However, to answer your question. No. You can not be banned for using normal vanilla Minecraft.

Just one correction: A player cannot sprint sprint backwards or sideways in multiplayer with BSM.

And Macs have a functionality where if the sprint key is set to Caps Lock, the user doesn't have to hold it down.
