It is unreasonable to be banned for 7-days, for admitting to hacking in chat. It can't be compared to "Shouting fire in a crowded theater", which actually causes panic in a public setting. There are worse things to say in the chat that you can't get banned for, but in this case, "admitting to hacks in chat", essentially, you are getting banned for lying in chat. It is clearly absurd. This is naturally a problem for everyone because not all users read the rules word for word. Think about the average age-group of this community. There are also unsaid rules that we publicly are not aware of. I first thought this rule was absurd when I first started playing on MCSG and a friend of mine was banned for 7-days because he typed "I hack" in the chat. This was on the second video I recorded on the MCSG servers. Till this day I still do not agree with it 100%. I understand why this rule is implemented to increase the safety of the users, but a 7-day ban is unreasonable. There are worse things you can do to receive a 7-day ban. Ninety percent of new users coming to play on the MCSG servers will never know of this rule. Something along the lines of 3-day ban is much more sensible.

This is my honest opinion of how I feel about this rule and what changes should be made to better the community.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. It happened to my friend. But I also got someone I dislike A LOT banned for admitting to hacks, and after that he stopped being c0cky and hate on me.

Did I just like a post this man made? Whoaaaa....a person can forget grudges in six months time. Dayum! o_O

But seriously, huntarr_ read the O.P.'s post. I agree with it wholeheartedly (again...can't believe I'm saying this).

I completely agree, I think 7 days is too long, if this player gets banned for 7 days, the might migrate to a different sg server if you know what I mean. If I could I would attempt to make a voting system for this, and see what the Tributes have to say.

I think being banned for it at all is silly. All one really accomplishes is ban the people who *cough* troll *cough*...totally didn't do this last night on TeamSpeak to Huntarr...*cough*. :p

Honestly, I would believe that a ban for supposedly admitting to hacks can be somewhat reasonable, taking it to a false school alarm context, if someone set off a false alarm on purpose, then they would most probably get suspended, coming from my educational system, that is in a way, how it works. It is basically the same thing as falsely claiming possession of hacks, a ban is reasonable.

To be entirely honest, regardless of reading the rules or not, I wouldn't understand why people would intentionally make such false claims in the first place.
However I would believe that seven days is seemingly too long for a ban regarding false claims. Maybe a three day ban would actually do, to give people time to think about what they are doing, and hypothetically speaking, providing enough time to take down any modifications that are prohibited from the network. :)

Unfortunately, the rule specifically says 1that admitting to hacks, even jokingly, is punishable. We aren't sure if the person is joking or not, so we can take no chance. Let's imagine that saying stupid will get you banned. Say that you told your friend that he's stupid because he fell for the alt f4 trick and meant it in a joking way. Guess what, it's not allowed and will then get you banned. This go same for admitting to hacks. Maybe the punishment is too harsh, but there are people who are hacking that have admitted to hacking. Punishing them for a less time will give them 3 offenses before getting perm banned, which is unfair to those who have hacked and got perm banned after 2 offenses. I hope you can understand what I mean, also sorry for any grammer mistakes I'm on my phone. :p

I agree 100%. One thing is that a hacker would never say in chat that he is hacking. Atleast most hackers would never admitt to hacking in chat. I think that this rule should be removed.

But I disagree with you because I was in a EU game with two hackers who were obviously new to minecraft because the said in public chat that they hacked so...
