I think this is an interesting suggestion, but I think there is a more interesting way of doing it.
How about at around the time of refill, maybe when refill comes, a store opens in the cornucopia and you can buy some items you want there for a lot of points (like 200 + because they would be tier 2 items). The shop would only be open for a minute, and most of the time wouldn't be worth buying anything because it's at refill time in corn.

Scrap both ideas and put actual shops in the survival games and add money which you get from kills in the current match, the stores wouldn't be common at all and would sell only one of each item to a player so you cant spam ingots and they would sell

iron ingot
stone sword
gold armor (sold separate)
food (no gold apples)
