You've made 2 valid points but I'm 100% sure than if deathmatch were to be increased to 4 players, teams of 4 would be extremely frequent. No matter how good a player is, fighting a team of 4 is irritating. Teams of 3 are also irritating but bearable.

Because of the fact that they know they can have a 4 person FFA at the end of the game.

I've played on other popular servers with 4 person death matches, and haven't noticed an increase in 4 man teams.

This would cause the people that are stacked and take corn to be triple teamed on. Usually they are double teamed, but now it will be even worse for them causing someone who is hardly stacked to win.

If anything I would rather prefer 2 person deathmatch. We used to have 60 minute games and 2 person deathmatch giving the unlucky person without a team the extra time to plan out how to deal with the team. Stalking them and waiting for them to separate then striking when the time is right. Making the odds against them go away. Now it is just team vs. 1 person in a small confined area.

No, the reason their is 3 players is because of Cato, Peeta and Katniss in the finale 3 fighting on top of the cornucopia. You have made a good point about the 2v1, but that is part of the game, so your going to have to rally. + 2v1 helps you become... Better!!!
