If they did bring it back it would be best that they created their own custom pack and used the Technic Platform for distributing it to everyone. This way there wouldn't be issues with "banned" items and exploits because they'd have complete control of what is and isn't included within the pack. If you'd really like to see this get started up again it's probably best to make suggestions on things that you would like to see within the pack instead of just saying, "We want tekkit back, make it voltz/tekkit."

I, Chobski (Diamonds_Co) accept that TheBluemeerkat hacks and would like the tekkit server to return!
Although I would like to see the beloved tekkit server return, we must decide which modpack to use.
1 - Tekkit Classic (like the old server, it is outdated and still runs minecraft 1.3 xD)
2 - FTB Server (the successor to technic and now most minecraft modpacks are run from here, regularly updated and has all the new mods, many different packs eg Unleashed, unhinged and Direwolf20, all currently being updated to 1.6)
3 - Voltz - (has the ICBM mod which involves missiles which will probably be banned, no well-known core mods)
4 - New Tekkit (contains the mod Galacticraft, you can travel to the moon! Is more updated than tekkit classic and is our best option to mix the old with the new.)
5 - Custom Mod pack - (ask the community what mods they want and create a private pack on the FTB launcher to run it from)

I hope that we can have some sort of Modded Minecraft server, but ultimately it is down to the staff! Goodluck with this guys xD

Go for option 5!
Make it like Tekkit Classic, but updated to 1.7.2
