At each sundown when the chests are refilled, there should be better loot available in them then there could be previously. On maybe the second sunset, it is possible to find diamonds in chests that aren't in the cornucopia. This would mean that in a long game there would be very powerful players in the deathmatch, rather then one guy with full iron armor and a diamond sword and the other with a stone sword and leather armor.

Iron Swords: They are craftable quite easily, so not necessarily, but iron armor should be available after the first night. Also, another idea, maybe the chests refill at dawn too? (but only if they bring back hostile mobs that kill off noobs during the night)

That's the idea of the cornucopia. There needs to be a powerful place, besides, you can get all the stuff outside of the cornucopia anyway, just a lot harder.

I usually find 2 set of iron armor and a lot of iron ingot in the first refill so i don't think this is really necessary.

Not as powerful as the cornucopia, but a bit more powerful on the first night, so that after the first refill you might be able to craft a diamond sword or have some decent iron armor with luck after finding 8-9 chests or something
