Tracker jackers that work

These have been suggested many times but no one has ever figured out how to work it. I was just recently on a server and the owner was testing a plugin he just got ( I dunno the name of it ) and it made everyone on the server hallucinate and their screen swirled around. Somehow he managed to give us all the animation as if we were standing in a NETHER PORTAL. So if a peraon walks near a specified tracker jacket tree they will get the animation of bein in a nether portal for about 30 seconds or so.

The game has something called the nausea effect. It gives a similar effect to a nether portal, except it's clear, not purple. If there was a better way of using this effect, (besides proximity) This would work well.

Yes nausea thanks for helping me remember. I opened my inventory and where it said all of the potions I drank it said nausea. It made my screen swish from side to side like I was in a nether portal... It didn't affect my movement or controlles it just made everything confusing. And yeah this will need to be proximity activated when you get near certin trees ( the trees will have some sort of obvious marking so you can see its a tracker jacker tree.

Hehe, I'm very familiar with the Nausea effect on drug servers :3

It might work, primarily on map 1 because of so many trees, maybe a yellow colored block to stand for a tracker-jacker's nest or something of the sort.

Maybe a little bit of poison. It can't kill you but take you to 1/2 a heart.

I disagree with it doing damage. In my opinion the effect it has on your sight is enough of a disadvantage.

yea, the problem with the ideas like this is that theres no other "tricks" like this already implemented, its mainly just PVP, so if this was implemented on its own it would be an awkward idea.

But if there was other things like this implemented, (like flash forest fires, fireballs coming from nowhere), then this idea would fit the theme very nicely. P.S. Good Idea ;D
