In the hub, it is almost impossible to read one thing, as people are always saying things like
"pls tem for hunger craft"
"pls tem skype no jefearrows"
"I LOVE JOEY"
and a lot more under the same context.

So, I was thinking of adding a time-out to chat, much like how streamers on Twitch.TV can add a mute to the chat, so one person can only send a message every 60 or so seconds, however long the staff feel is necessary.

Within this, we could also add another reason to buy donor, and help the servers out! I think if people paid to help the server that month, they should be able to chat without the time-out (while still abiding by the rules).

I just thought about this after witnessing a huge flame war about Joey's sexuality, which was completely retarded and uncalled for. It was really nobody's business. Forairan knows what I mean, he was there.

I would say no because like you said, people like to find teams in lobby.
Person A - "Anyone team"
Person B - "Sure"
Now both players have to wait the time out period to reply to each other, which wastes both players time and would also cause people to rage especially when they have something important to say.

Plus moderating the hub is not that hard, any swears or forms of abuse can easily be spotted among the rest of the chat. Interesting idea but I think it is unneeded.

At the same time, this could be a good way to bring more people here to the forums by making a, lets say, "Teams" section of the forums. They could post that they are currently online and looking for a team, maybe even post about specific win amounts, maybe even "Join TS channel US MCSG 14 to team!!" That way instead of the hub being spammed with "Say 12345 to team!!!" People would come to this site, in turn making more ad revenue, and freeing up much space for others to chat about the randomness that is the MCSG Hub. In effect, this would also draw many more people to the Team Speak servers. After a while people would recognize others and this community would grow stronger.

Now, I understand most people dislike random teamers. But sometimes late at night when you want a pal to play with this would be an easy way to find someone. Also, all of the clans are technically teams. Which I find funny when I'm in a game and all I see is clan members complaining about losing to these "Teams."

This could in turn make this more into a Social network, these forums I mean. Although, I'm getting way ahead of myself. People are lazy.

P.s. This is a very effective strategy used by many other server providers etc. None to be named. However, other games such as Runescape, and the Steam forums use this technique.

I'll be honest, this is probably one of the worst ideas I have ever read. I hate it, and I'll be pissed if this is on the servers. Just imagine a converstation.

Me: Hey, Pherrera!
Pherrera: Hey! c:

1 minute later:
Me: How's it goin?
Pherrera: Good! You? c:

1 minute later:
Me: Good! c: wanna team?
Pherrera: sounds good!

*Game begins*

If you're lucky you'll get 2-3 messages typed in during the lobby. This is just ridiculous. I'm going to hate it if this happens. You're going to piss of a lot of people.

Exactly my point.

We have something like that called the Clans section. Join a clan or you can team in the hub like right now. There is no reason why we should limit the chat.

I'm saying other then the clans section. What if your clan isn't online? Head on over to the "Teams" section and find someone to play with for a little while. Maybe you will even become friends with that someone. Delete Team requests over 30 minutes old etc. Anyway, random idea.

Well, maybe this idea should be revised. I mean, sure there is innocent chat, but there is some spam that is not seen, because of the sheer amount of messages being sent at one instance. I think there should be a mute system, but possibly only to punish players who aren't using the chat correctly.

I see what you're saying, but here's how this chat happens without the filter.

Arena: Hey, Pherrera!
Random: JOEY
Random: tem pls bacca wood axe 4life skillz
Random: JOEY PLS
Random: hows ur dey dood
Moderator: Important message nobody reads
Random: JOEY
Random: tem pls bacca wood axe 4life skillz
Random: JOEY PLS
Random: hows ur dey dood
Arena: Hey, Pherrera!!!
Random: PLSSSSSS
Pherrera: Hai!
Random: I'M DONE WITH MCSG #HATE
Developer: Play whatever is the most fun!

You get the point.
