So, I know it's not just me, but I feel like the quality of MCSG's maps (and maybe the astonishing amount of them) has declined a bit. Now, as a member with a map in the rotation, I know that mine is far from perfect, and so I carry some of the blame. But I think that everyone needs new, fresh maps added, with the old ones that nobody votes for removed.
So I propose a system. Every month, a vote is taken for 3 maps to be removed, and 3 maps to be added. All 3 maps do not have to be added (due to the possibility of no up-to-par maps). These 3 would be chosen by staff who usually accept maps, so they would still make the calls. It would look something like this: Ten or so maps that are in progress are voted on to be added, and the three with the most votes go in. Then, ten maps that are already in the rotation are put up to vote, and the ones who get the most votes are removed.
This system would allow for a stable amount of maps on the voting list, and new maps to replace old ones that just take up room on the voting list. After the votes are counted, and some maintenance is preformed, the players would have new maps to play. And perhaps this would help maps that were removed to make a comeback- if the community sees fit, like Hungry Hills and Ancient Japan.
This system would help the community get a voice in map choice, as well as map removal. Now, some maps would not be leaving, even if there are huge arguments over them *cough cough* Breeze/SG4 *cough* As well as all of Team Variede's maps. Even if this means my own map is removed, sure. If that's what the community wants, so be it. I just think this would help settle many complaints about map quality I've heard.
Thanks for your time!
