I used "you" in my post as an indefinite pronoun - perhaps you should stop making assumptions. Also if you carefully read my post again you will notice I use the term "if" a couple of times, if you are unfamiliar with it I can point you to the Wiktionary definition. Essentially, it's a conjunction where I suggest a certain statement is true, so long a different assumption is true. So if I say "if the only reason you play this game is to get virtual internet points you may want to reconsider your priorities in life", I mean that, in my opinion, the statement "you may want to reconsider your priorities in life" is correct if (and only if) the preceding condition is fulfilled (i.e. only playing this game for virtual points).

Reading back my post again I can't really find any assumptions, only a bunch of conditional statements. You may want to work on your reading comprehension skills.
The word 'you' is not an indefinite pronoun; they would be 'a' and 'an', whilst 'the' is a definite pronoun. Just thought I'd clear that up first. Also, the way in which you conducted your message made it seem as though you were trying to imply something; you even quoted my post, which is fair to say that it looks as though it is directed towards me. There are no indefinite pronouns used which also makes it look as though you are not generalising. Anyway, I'm not going to have an English argument with someone on the internet that refers to Wikipedia as his/her back-up source whilst also demonstrating flaws in his/her general knowledge. Perhaps instead of telling me to work on my comprehension skills, you should work on your writing skills.

*coughs*

You is usually a second person pronoun. However, in formal english the indefinite prounoun one can be used in the third person to refer to an inderteminate person. In informal usage, English speakers often replace one with you.
I never claimed you was an indefinite pronoun, I merely used it as one, which is fairly common practice.

Wait wait wait. Are you trying to argue with me about what I meant even though I already explicitey stated my intentions with that post? The reason I replied to you was because you brought up the point that some people may get angry when they lose their points.

So you think that when people have a disagreement they should not refer to third-party sources but instead just keep pretending they're right? Or are you one of those "wikipedia is an unreliable source, try Google Scholar"-people?

Wikipedia is an unreliable source; this website is claiming that the word 'you' is an article, which it isn't. This also demonstrates that whatever knowledge is being displayed can also not be classified as solid and/or correct, seeing as it IS coming from wiki. You cannot claim you is an indefinite article if it isn't. Once again, you're assuming that I do not think that a third-party source should not be used; you need to use a trustworthy resource and you are definitely not doing so. Finally, you are not generalising when you quote someone's comment in particular; you specifically replying to me gives me the impression that you are talking to me; if you really want to talk about a topic in general, don't quote a person. Even if you did use my comment because it was related to the topic, it is your job to state that because by not doing so, you are giving me the wrong impression about this topic, which is, again, your flaw in writing this.

Really? Where? Because if I Ctrl+F "article" on the page about "you" it doesn't say that anywhere. Or are you talking about a different article?

This also demonstrates that whatever knowledge is being displayed can also not be classified as solid and/or correct, seeing as it IS coming from wiki.
Because one piece of info is incorrect, the rest is unreliable too? Didn't you accuse me of generalizing things? Wow..

You cannot claim you is an indefinite article if it isn't.
Really? Really? I'm just going to directly quote my previous post, the one you replied to:

I'll just leave you with that.

Usually when someone quotes a post they intend to reply to the contents of that post, not the author directly. Here's your initial post (or at least the part I replied too):

I don't think they should reset the leaderboards because some people worked very hard for their current spot and would be upset if they're stats were reset.
Considering you were obviously talking about other people I find it a bit strange how you somehow thought I was talking about you, but the fact that you keep insisting that I addressed you even though the post I replied to was about other people is even worse.

Seriously, there are so many flaws to your posts.

Your first one:
"Your" redirects here. For words with various spellings pronounced the same, see Ure (disambiguation).
This article is about the pronoun. <<<< That is copy pasted from the website indicating that it is a pronoun. Also, it's not that I'm generalising at all; Wikipedia is an unreliable third-party source because anyone can easily post whatever information pleases them whether it be true or false; for that reason, I don't believe any information I see from Wikipedia, unless I find it on a trusted website. Let's leave it at that.

When quoting someone, it is obvious that you're replying to the contents in their message, but the message was, in a manner, related to me, so you WERE replying to me in a sense, especially since I was the one who posted that comment.

Anyway, this little debate has been fun and all, but let's get back on topic now. You can reply and have your last word if you're that kind of person, but I'm done with this c:
