Getting rid of the thunder?

I like the thunder it makes the game intense ;-)

The actual hunger games had a cannon go off for each tribute. The thunder acts as the cannon. Removing that would end up making the servers less realistic. So I would have to go with no on this one for me. I do agree that thunder is way too loud though. I believe with the new resource packs for 1.6, you might be able to change how loud it is. If that is the case, then that seems like a great fix.

Dude you can think these servers are realistic If you want but this is MINECRAFT you can use fishing rods to attack and you can swim up a giant waterfalls nothing realistic about that

I hate the lightning if it's not in my favour, when when you're fighting in deathmatch (fair fight against your teammate) it's annoying as hell when the lightning hits you, because it gives you a disadvantage, and I hate that..

You don't need to hear footsteps behind you. Just F5 every now and then to see what's behind you. I do this so much that it's become a helpful habit.
