I know technically this isn't the correct place for this suggestion, yet this is the only suggestions section. So anyway here goes nothing and a half:
Right now users can't delete their own threads and rectify mistakes however it's against forum rules to post in the wrong section, why not grant members the ability to delete their own threads? It seems like a waste of a moderators time to have to go round deleting everyone's threads for them if they don't want them, not to mention people like to have the freedom to be able to delete their threads if they decide it's no longer of value or simply accidental.

If you think it's a good idea please show your enthusiasm by putting +Support, if not please put -Support and explain why.

This is one of my peeves with the forums, especially when I screw something up with disputes.

But don't make it donor exclusive. This is a privilege that should be given to everyone.

People should be able to delete their own threads and lock their own threads, but I don't know if it's possible with XenForo because they make it really difficult to change things apparently.

I'm not too sure if it's solvable on Xenforo, yet on My BB they would have to edit the user group of members and allow us to edit and delete our threads. If they've made a moderator group and allowed them to do it I'm sure it's possible.

I guess it probably is since it has to do with permissions of a rank, and they can obviously make their own ranks.

No one receives punishments or suspensions for posting their thread in the wrong place :l

You know what I mean, it's still annoying to be slapped on the wrist when you can't correct your own mistake.
Damn you, there's always one! xD.

*makes long thread that took hours of writing*

*accidentally clicks the "Delete Thread" button*

If a button like that is gonna be implemented, make sure before it gets deleted there's some form of warning. XD

That won't happen, lol, it does give a warning.

I don't think it's too bad of an idea, but the thing with deleted threads is that it still shows up for staff members and they really, really fill up the forum for them. That's why we have a hidden archive where threads are moved to instead of deleted. We could possibly have moving threads possible but it can easily be abused.

For now, people underestimate the use of report. It indicates above the forum page to every single staff member where they can resolve the issue to either lock, move or delete particular posts on.
