Points for getting to deathmatch?

Hi :)

This is a feature I have been thinking about for a while now. Getting to the top 3 isn't always as easy as it seems, so I think it would be a good idea to award the remaining tributes with a small amount of points (5, maybe 10?). It isn't much, but just thinking about the nooby "stuck on 1 point" me from a few months back (surviving till the deathmatch was a huge achievement) makes me think this would be a good addition to MCSG.

What do you guys think? :]

How come you've only just visited the forums if you were on the servers when they were fun?

I think it would cause games to go on forever since people with a low amount of points would camp in a house/tree just to receive points :C

Don't know, to be honest. I have always been more interested in the actual game than the forums, but I decided it would be a good idea to get to know the community a bit better too.
Anyway, I see what you mean. But isn't that was Katniss did too? ;) These are the SURVIVAL Games, afterall and surviving just by hiding isn't the easiest thing either, especially on the smaller maps (which happen to be the most popular too).

I would prefer maybe a 100-200 point bounty for winning a game!

Yeah, I'd love for this to actually happen, don't get me wrong.
While I'm a fan of maps such as SG3, SG2 and SG1, the newer players just want SG4, SG4, Breeze Island :C
Not that it applies to me, I hunt people :p
Anyway, since the newer players are dull-minded and dislike variety, chances are this suggestion won't be implemented as many people would complain that they aren't getting their daily dose of SG4.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind this. Because it's really not many points, I can't see people camping for it. Maybe if we only had it for 3 person deathmatch?
It's really not giving you anything statwise, besides the fact that if you were at 100 points you wouldn't lose any with no kills that game.

I know I personally make it to deathmatch a lot only to get teamed, so this might make for a good addition

Is 10 points even worth it? Also as previously stated, this would promote camping.

Here's my opinion.

The first problem with this is, like people said, camping. Just because we may not consider 10 points to be a lot, there are plenty of people with less than 100 points that are unable of getting above that many because they don't have the skill. I'm sure they would love to get free points if they could make it to deathmatch, because then they may have a reason to be proud of their achievement. They would camp so that they could get those 10 points, and games would drag on longer than they should. Games have already started becoming unusually and unnecessarily long, which annoys me. Giving people another reason to drag on games isn't something on my to-do list personally.

Maybe if there was another requirement along with making it to deathmatch that you had to complete in order to get points for it. Something that would force people not to camp, such as getting at least 1 kill. That way, the game will go faster because people will have another incentive to get a kill, because there is a chance they might gain an extra 10 points from it. This may cancel out the effect of camping, at least slightly, and would make this a more interesting implementation on MCSG.
