I thought because of the upcoming olympics that there could be a US vs EU competition on the survival games. Maybe like the server is 50/50 US and EU. I know it cost a lot of money to start but if there is a way to do it for free it would be fun to have a little of friendly competition.

Maybe but it will be really costly and I don't think they'd invest in something like that or if it's actually possible

The game would be difficult to be made fair... Cause connection would be a problem

So I guess this is the total reply so far:

Too expensive
Connection issues = bad

I think it's a good idea though. The connection issues might be a problem, but too expensive isn't. All that needs to be done is change one of the other 24/48 player servers to make it so that half the slots are reserved for EU players and half for US. I don't know how this can be done (maybe it can just be decided randomly if you have played on both - which side you're on I mean, and if one side is full you play for the other side instead).

Connection issues are a problem, and how to make it is also a problem. Too expensive can be easily fixed by just changing the code for the plugin on 1 server or something.
