Introduction:

Long ago, on an island far east the coast of America, a band of pirates settled on what is now known as the 'Pirate's Bay’. The pirates were wealthy, and there is treasure scattered and buried within the island. Years later the pirates had made the island home, but then they were attacked by two other bands of pirates seeking the stashes of gold. The weaker attacks destroyed much of the landscape, but the attackers were quickly killed by the inhabitant pirates. A war brewed between the two remaining pirate clans. The original pirate's were forced underground, in the mountains, and away from the coast. The war raged on until an unknown event settled it. Nobody knows what happened but all that was left were the remains of the abandoned island. Years later, this island and its string of smaller islands were made into the survival games arena, Pirate's Bay.

The tropical island is not very dense, as the original pirate inhabitants cleared out large sections of land for wood. Many of the pirate ships disappeared, some in ruins and some still intact and anchored down. It is a host of a beautiful landscape, ruined buildings and secret treasures to explore whilst fighting for your life against 23 other tributes nominated for the games.

Map Information:
  • The map's 640x640 blocks in length and width. To compare this to other maps, Breeze Island and Survival Games 2 are around 500x500 and Survival Games 3 is around 1000x1000.
  • Everything is terraformed, no natural landscape!
  • There are 100+ chests outside of cornucopia.
  • The map was developed within two days, although over 16 hours a day were spent on it.
  • It's more land then water, and in the water are ships. ;)
  • Mods, Plugins and Programs used are WorldEdit and WorldPainter.

Okay, the map looks really good with Shaders, but once you actually download it, it's still good, but disappointing in a lot of places.

The buildings are uncreative and boring. If it wasn't for the detail in them being ruined, they would look out of place and uninteresting.

The terraforming is great in some areas, then really bad in others. It goes from being smooth and nice, to looking horrible and rough.

The map is very detailed in other areas though, and the boats and small little landmarks are awesome. I just don't think 2 days is enough time to make a good map, and the terraforming bugs and plain buildings prove that. If you had spent more time on it, it would be awesome and I'd definitely vote for it to be added, but it just needs to be perfected further.

P.S. The corn is gorgeous, and I really love the theme!

Well to be fair, I guess the buildings don't matter. In a lot of the maps with destroyed buildings, they're very plain, and nobody really complains. Including me :p.

It's hard to take a screenshot of all the bugs, as a lot of the time it's just random sets of blocks missing or extra unnecessary bits. All it needs is to be smoothed out generally everywhere a bit more, and it'll be perfect.

Well, it was supposed to be a very rugged landscape, and if you're also reffering to the sand stripes across the land that is a bug that we've come to love. :)

Wow this map is impressive. Love corn
Did you use a texture pack or shader because it looks lighter than usual.
