If there were potion ingredients in chests, I would recommend just Tier 3 chests or possibly to replace the current sponsor items other than enderpearl. Potions would be really OP, but having to take the time to brew them from the sponsorship would make it more balanced.
If they appear in Tier 3 chests, you will be able to get potion ingredients even though they may be rare. You will be able to get potions to better fight your opponents, but it would be a challenge to get those powerful items. If they were in Tier 2 or even Tier 1 chests, they would be easy to get and therefore everyone could be very strong. If they were also able to be sponsored, then your friends could give you the gear that will take time but make you stronger. So Tier 3 chests and/or through sponsorships, you should be able to get potion ingredients.
