Temporary /craft command!

Since right now, in the 1.5 update, crafting has been fairly broken, I am suggessting a TEMPORARY /craft command. How it would work, is that when you type it in, it tells you what items ou can craft, and if you stand withing 2 block of a crafting table, with a clear LoS to it, you can type in /craft <name of item> and it will say "Crafting...", then wait for 2 seconds, and then give you the item!
Once crafting is fixed though, they would take out this command :/

See, you know what I would do. If I was in deathmatch I would type in /craft before it started sprint up to a table, press t up enter. It would craft and I would just sprint around or act all tough that way they didn't attack me thinking it was an opportunity.

No..... then you can craft wherever you are.

Please read the WHOLE post, I said that you need to be very close to a crafting table, and that after you type in the command, you need to wait, probably 2 secondsish for it to craft, so it wouldn't be an insta-craft.

And do keep in mind that this would be very temporary, until they get the crafting bug fixed.

Interesting idea, but there would be too many problems with it. Plus, the Developers are probably coding up a solution as we speak. The 1.5 update did change inventory management, but it isn't this buggy on vanilla. The server plugins just don't like the new inventory features apparently.

How would they do that tho

1. Based on the items that your able to get, it makes a list of everything that is able to be crafted
2. It sees what you need for each of thoose, (I.e. 2 iron, 1 stick for an iron_sword)
3. If you have the neccessar materials in your inventory, it tells you when you do the command.
4. when you type in /craft iron_sword, it takes away the 2 iron, and 1 stick from your inventory, and gives you an iron sword! Easy.
