My friend and I were talking about how we were losing so many points within a few games. We came up with the idea that if you kill someone, or a few people, and you died, you lose 5% of the points you gained for killing people (or 10%, just 5% as an example). If you hadn't killed anyone, you would lose 5% of your current points.

Small, but I like this idea, so you aren't losing your hard earned points insanely fast.

This seems kind of over complex. I think a better idea to stop the rapid loss of points wold be to simply return to the old system of losing 2.5% of your points on death.

I think this idea makes it too hard to lose points. From what I understood, this is how it works.

Player A, Player B, Player C and Player D are in a game.
Player A has 400 points, and goes up to Player B and kills him. For this he gains 10 points, so he is now at 410 points. Then Player C comes and kills Player A, but instead of gaining the 5% of Player A's score, he gained the 5% of Player B's loss. So he gained 2 points.
Player D also has 400 points. Player C comes and kills Player D, but since Player D hasn't killed anyone, Player C gains 5% of his score which is 20 points.

This seems a bit unfair. You lose more points when you haven't killed someone than when you do kill someone? Then as long as you punch someone to death, you will gain points instead of losing points which you should have done for only killing one person. I agree with Zeno though, that they should change it back to 2.5% loss if anything. I'm not against the system as it is now though.

That would make for less competition, and I always at least found points to be a bit of a fun thing to play around with sometimes! :)
Lol yeah I just find it annoying how you are ranked in points when people first meat you instead of wins

Basically, this means that most people's points would just keep going up to infinity and beyond as long as they get a kill a game.

I agree the point system does make players lose points a bit to quick.

Pros (of losing many points upon death):
It really shows the skill of the players that maintain 1000 points.
It shows the noobs with zero.
It stops players from sponsoring all the time.
It makes players want 1000 points more.
It adds a new aspect to the game. A aspect that is different from the old point system. The old one made it east to maintain 1000 points. Now it is harder.

Cons (about the new system):
Wins don't give many points so targeting players with more points is more apparent.
Players with over 1000 points are being targeted.
Sponsering is only going to popular players or decised friends.
Points are lost to rapidly.
Player are upset.

You meat people? Is that like throwing meat at them or something?
