Permanent Districts.

Simple suggestion. But I noticed when joining servers, it just gives you a random district each time you start. I think it'd be kinda cool to have set districts. They could be set on the site here, and simply transfer over to the game.

Could also allow for district only chat, so you can talk to other people in your district.

Actually based on what District you have, you spawn in the same place. District 1 always spawns in district 1 and so on making some positions more valuable than others.

Also what about 48 man servers? Does that mean that if you are in district 13+ that you can only be on 48 man servers?



This also means that there is a total of 2 people that can join per district per game.

For 24 person game:
To put it in perspective, right now there are technically 24 district slots that you could occupy out of around 34 or so 24-man servers. So you have around 816 available chances for you to try to join.

If you restricted that to just a single district then you would only have 2 slots for every server making you only have 68 available chances across all 24-man servers.


For a 48 person game:
If you choose district 13+ then that means that you can only play on 48 man servers and there are only 8 of those as of now, then you would only have 16 chances to get on the game instead of the usual 384 chances.

IF your thinking along the lines of people choosing what district they want to be in, there would be a downfall of people being in 2-4 and 12 because they are the most popular during the books and now since the movie, 12 is more favoured, also from the other posts ^ they have there valid opinions aswell

only if it work like the first time you join a server you may choose youyr main district. when the game starts the system are prioritazing the donors there district then the normal members, but if three normal players have the same district the two who have best points get the district number and the rest who doesn't get there number are randomized by the open distict slots

Actually I was assuming the site would pick for you. That way it could do it's best to try and keep the number of people in each District somewhat even. Otherwise you'd end up with a million people on one district and barely anyone on another.

Although I do realize that either they'd have to make it so only two from each district could join, or risk having multiple people from one district in one server. I didn't actually think this through very well, honestly I'm not the best at figuring out how stuff like this would work. I just kinda liked the idea of having a set district, a district specific board. You could work out teams as a district, etc. But yeah, I can see how it might have some problems. lol Was just a thought.

quick point, you wouldn't have districts 13+ because the 48 players servers are based off of the 50th Hunger Games (or the second Quarter Quell) where double the amount of tributes were required from each district so you could still get into these servers with twice the chance, if you're restricted to only taking a spot designated for your district.
perhaps a way around that is to make it so not all districts have to be fairly represented? that way you could have major district vs district wars which would make for very interesting watching... imagine a 12 v 12 or 24 v 24 game, that would be very very enjoyable (if you could spectate from the beginning, streaming perhaps?)
