1.8 lag

Hi, i have herd lots of people saying they hate 1.8 and to me its not that bad, theres only one thing thats bothering me, on 1.7 i use to get 30 fps and it would really drop but on 1.8 i get 70 fps!! but its drops to 10 and lower every 5 sec and i cant play mcsg with it does anyone know how to fix ? I already turned my VBOS ON. And i already have done everything that the old improving fps thread said to do. Can anyone help its really annoying

Hello, here are my suggestions for your problem: 1. Download the mod called "Optifine" for 1.8 2. Restart minecraft and your computer 3. Lower your settings for minecraft under "Options" and then "Video Settings", just make those a bit worse and it should improve your speed. (I'm so happy I beat Scott to this! )

I hope you realize because minecraft was built in Java, it's nearly entirely dependent on his cpu?

In my opinion, I think it may just be a computer problem, but there is a possibility it could be the update (which I highly doubt). Try checking your particle settings and turn them all off. It should help it a bit, let me know if it helps .

Also, I personally do not use VBOS, try turning that off?

I turned of vbos and i went from 2chuncks 50fps to 8chuncks 60fps

The sudden decrease in FPS could be due to a lack of RAM! Try increasing the amount of RAM allocated to Minecraft. You can find a tutorial using Google. Good luck resolving your issue!
