Yes, you will keep your donor, even after the 1.8.1 update and name changes. Your donor is connected to your UUID, so all is well. Do you have any more question? If not, I shall lock the thread.

If the name is available, and you switch your name to that name, you won't be banned. Your bans are logged with your account's UUID.

Fantastic. Because a banned player is willing to sell me their account. They'll change their name and I'll be able to change mine to theirs!

First of all, if you have donor on MCGamer right now, you will continue to have donor if you change your name (until it expires if applicable). Do not worry, the way Minecraft accounts are set up, your account still holds the same ranks and information that it did before.
