Will it be good for rendering?
Although I don't have this exact PC, I do believe it should do just fine as far as rendering is concerned. The fact is, if you had $150 more to spend on a CPU, you would get far better render times. Another $200 on your graphics card and you would cut down render times some more. In the end, it all comes down to your budget. The more you spend, the better performance you will get. Again, this build should handle rendering with no problem but don't expect it to be lightning fast.

y no allenware
Spec for spec, Alienware computers are not as good a value as building a computer. In other words, I would be getting more for my money if I spent $1,000 computer parts then if I bought a pre-built Alienware computer for the same price. This not only applies for Alienware computers but other pre build computers as well. Along with that, you get all the benefits of building a computer over buying an Alienware system. For example, if you want a powerful CPU and no graphics card, you can do that without a problem. No need to be locked down to a specific set of parts you have to choose from. Another benifet to building a computer over buying one (Alienware included) is that you get to build it and get the satisfaction of actually putting it together. That's probably my favorite part of building a computer. :3
