FPS problems where they shouldn't be... (Tech Extraordinares wanted)

Hi lads, I recently built a PC, Specs:

CPU: AMD FX 8370 Black Edition 4.0GhZ
GPU: GTX 760 2gbddr5
MoBo: Asrock 970 Extreme4

So, My FPS is pretty fricken unstable, Sometimes it drops down to as low as 30, but guess what, It only happens in Minecraft. I recently found out that Minecraft is a CPU based game, after I found that out I contemplated of just commiting suicide or finding the problem, so, I researched, and researched, and I found out, that AMD's CPU's are actually pretty, well... Shi*t. So, what now? If I were to get an i5, I would need to change the mobo aswell, because it doesnt have an intel socket, which is basicly 350 euros, I obviously don't have that kind of money right now. I really don't know what to do, I've heard, that 1.8 is GPU based. Is that so? I haven't tried it yet, if it is, then I should be alright, if it's not, then, well... I'm screwed. Please, some tech geniouses, help me.

Some new rigs have their issues. Two questions; what bit java do you have installed? Is your computer 32x or 64x because you need to install the corresponding Java. Also when using Winrar to download mods, use the same correspondence.

i.e if you have a 64x computer, use 64x java and winrar; if you have a 32x computer, use 32x java and winrar

You don't need a new CPU, FX-8xxx series coupled with that GPU should be getting you ~200fps

it is giving me that, but it keeps fluctuating down, even to 30 sometimes

Maybe you should provide more ram to your minecraft. In that case, making Minecraft run 2-3 gigabytes of ram instead of one may help increase your fps.

I'm assuming you have Windows, if you do not I apologize. I'm also assuming you have Windows 7/8, so here are the steps you should take to find out what bit your OS is.

Win OS 7: Click Start. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. Under "System" it will list what OS bit you have. If 32 bit, stay with 32 bit, if 64, uninstall your currently installed java, and install 64 bit java.

Win OS 8: Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap search. Search "System" and click on "Settings". Then click on "System". In the "System Type" field you can find what bit your OS is. If 32 bit, stay with 32 bit, if 64, uninstall your currently installed java, and install 64 bit java.

This worked for me: Start minecraft, and when it has the "play" button, click edit profile, then check the "JVM Agruments" and where it says "-Xmx1G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128M" replace the 1G with a higher number, like a 2 or 3. It basically just updates how much memory you're putting towards minecraft.
