Get rid of skipvote?

Personally, I think skipvote needs to go. I mean, it was useful, but now people just use it to get to breeze island or SG4. Seriously, who hasn't been in a lobby where there are decent maps, but 3 or 4 people say "SKIP!!!! MAPS SUK!!!!!" and then the maps get voted out, a new selection comes up, it's Breeze Island and oh hey, now there's no chance of getting an interesting map, or any variety. I really just get sick of it, because whenever I see a selection of maps I like, I go "Yes! No Breeze or SG4!" But then people skip and it really ruins the fun.

I agree with this. People keep on skipping until either sg4 or breeze becomes an option, so i never get to play any of the other awesome maps .

Yeah this is a problem.
But still there is a majority with people who like Breeze and SG4 and personally my favorite map is SG4.

I'm thinking skip vote needs to go. Sometimes, Solar Frost comes up and I think YES! I love that map. But, everyone else says, "These maps suck" or "Skip for diamonds" and crap like that. Skip vote needs to be gone for good.

I agree. There are, let's face it, some pretty bad maps in the rotations (or at least ones that very few people like). It would be incredibly unfair to force people to play on those maps, which would be the end result of completely removing /skip. However, I do agree that it has to be changed so that SG 4 and Breeze aren't the only maps played (even though they're my favorite). I think an easy solution is to reduce the number of times a map can be skipped to 1, so bad maps can be skipped, but people can't just keep on skipping until they get SG 4/Breeze.

TL;DR: I think /skip should stay, but You can only skip one set of maps.

I wouldn't say any of the maps are bad. But because they are underplayed, no one knows much about any of them, with the exception of those who play all day. But yeah, i do agree with your proposal. Maybe reduce the number of maps available to vote for down to 3 as well? 2 was to little, especially because we had that when sg4 was always one option, but I think 4 is actually too many anyway.

Well tbh, it works both ways. If you took away skip vote, then players would be upset because they don't get to play their favorite maps as much. You are complaining right now that you don't get to play maps such as Solar Frost too much, well, it doesn't solve anything if we make others unhappy to make you happy.

I feel like the majority of people are happy with skip votes and yes it may get annoying to play the same maps over and over sometimes, but taking away the skip vote all together, that solves nothing. It just shifts the people being upset to another set of people being upset.

I am pretty sure that mcsg wants to make all of their users happy, not just the majority, but how can they if they dont have a fair voting system?

If the majority likes breeze and sg 4 then the rest of us dont get a say in which map is chosen. By removing skip more of the maps will be played.
