Resource Pack Help

So basically, I'm friends with Austin_HG. He gave me the Viperbite and Frostbite packs. However, whenever I try to use them, my Minecraft goes straight to default. My Minecraft can handle 512x512 with ease and no FPS loss at all. What's up?

Make sure that the proper folder is in place. He might have placed the folder within a ZIP.

This is most likely the cause. He may have accidentally (or purposefully) put the actual texture pack folder inside another folder. Check to see if this is the case.

Also, make sure you don't have any game boosters on. I used to have the Razer game booster, and texture packs would never work with me. If it still doesn't work, you can replace the original textures in the .jar file, with the ones in your texture pack.

Hello! Let me explain in detail what some of the above users were suggesting

First off, if the resource packs are in a zipped folder (.zip), be sure to extract all of the files. Then open it up and make sure that all of the texture pack files are there. It should look like this. If you see another folder inside of it (usually with the name of the texture pack), then you need to move it directly to the resource pack folder and it should work.

If that doesn't work, check to be sure that none of the files are corrupt or consider re-downloading the packs.

The solution was already posted. Resource packs in 1.8 are messed up.
