I have about 8 runner ups. (Failing so bad in DM) And 1 victory.
Now to another topic, today I was in deathmatch and playing a dude with a iron sword (I had diamond), He ran from me the whole time even though I didn't get a lot of hits on him and failed bow shooting because of the lag. What I'm trying to say here is that the winner should be decided in the end on who has the most hearts. Someone might have said it already but whatever.

You mean that when the Game ends without a winner, the one with the most hearts left will be the winner? That sounds awesome!

I agree with this. It's not really fair that it's that easy to screw people out of a win. It would be nice to see a fix to the annoying way on some maps where people can hide in the trees and shift, and the lightning won't get them..

I really love this idea but...

What if the other player has full hearts, regening whe they're running?

Or at the last moment they get 1 hit on you, meaning you're down a heart and they're on full? Obviously you could take them, but they'd get 1 hit by surprise and the games over?

Good idea but it has a fault to it: What if a guy hides in DM? It would be horrible.

Also what if both had full health?

Make it so where they can't regenerate. I've always had trouble with people that hide, heal, attack, and hide.

Not to be mean but, am I the only one who doesnt agree with this idea?
Dont get me wrong, i understand why you are suggesting this, but this idea is extremely unfair for all the people who would get into DM, Imagine you have survived all the game and you are the one with the most armour and the best weapon, then you got into a fight, killed the player and started the dm, maybe, because of the fight, you are gonna have less hearts left than some player who was on the edge of the map and you are gonna lose the game just becuase of that?
Also, this idea is unfair because, some players just get lucky once they get into DM because one of the 3 players died and this other one got his/her items, giving them a bigger chance of winning. With this idea you just remove all chances of winning to the underdogs of a game.

Yeah, I didn't put much thought into it.

DM ties should be decided based on total damage received during DM - lowest total injury wins. Problem solved.

EDIT: Changed from damage dealt to damage received to prevent issues with things like fire damage not being awarded properly. Whoever gets hurt less is the other half of the concept I was shooting for, so it works.

I like the idea of some form of ultimate decider for death matches that aren't ended, but not exactly in the manner you suggested. Lhos actually has a fair idea, the only thoughts on that I have are how difficult, if it is even possible, would it be to implement?
