I think it could be cool to implement a short (10-15 second) splash speed potions into chests, so that players could get a quick speed boost to get away from players. It would add a bit of interesting strategy as well, because you would have to be far enough out of the splash radius of the other player to avoid giving them the boost as well. Anyways, comment if it interests you, and vote.

EDIT -- I would suppose one of the main places this could be useful would be in the water, right as you are about to get out. When you jump out of the water back onto land, there seems to be a "slowdown" as you try to get out. An opponent can usually get 1 or more hits on you then depending on how close s/he is behind you.

I hate potions and enchantments.
When having potions and another player doesn't it allows them to gain a huge advantage, although in all my time of playing minecraft survival servers and factions and all of that I find myself using potions and enchantments it's due to the fact I want to make sure I win, and I know for a fact it doesn't really take skill when using potions/enchantments. it's more of the fact who has these things on who can win. I'm more of anti-potions/enchantments.
Although I can see the advantages for me being able to get one of these, I still would find myself in the position of seeing others using it against me. so really it's not worth it.

How come people who vote Yes don't have to explain themselves?

I like the feel of the Games the way it is now. Adding potions would take away from the basic PVP and survival feel that the Games is.

My two cents.

I want them so badly! I'd love to use a invisible potion and sneak up on someone, even IF I have to take off my armor :p

Honestly, I wish they never considered adding the "Tier 3" chests. I like change, but the game is fine (chest-wise) as it is now. But, since it seems to be inevitable, I guess I'll have to deal with it.

Now I know this is just for "short splash potions", but there isn't a better place to post my thoughts, so I guess I'll just post them here. It includes weapons and possible armor options, potions, and other items.

Invisibility potions would be an interesting idea; on first thought, it seems to be OP. However, upon closer look, you'll find that you'd have to take off armor and not hold anything in your hand (not to mention the bubbles coming from the invisible person's body). It'd make for an interesting match between the invisible person and the person getting attacked.

Instant damage potions are iffy, I haven't tested or touched them enough to post a valid argument about it, so I won't say anything about it.

Fire resist potions are nice. I think it'd be fun to not get burned in the games anymore!

Strength potions, once again, I haven't tested, but the basic concept of it seems to be fine.

Healing potions would be interesting. I like the idea of having a support character in the team. Throwing buffs, healing potions, and damage potions to harm the enemy would be cool to have on a team.

Poison potions are great. It slows down the enemy from running away and inflicts a constant stream of damage and is fun to have when PVPing somebody.

(I'll add more potions later, I've rarely tested them in the games.)

I'm a on the fence with Iron Swords in Tier 3 chests. I like the idea of crafting and obtaining materials to obtain better swords, and I don't want it to be put in a Tier 3 chest. However, I don't think it'll have too much of an impact on the game, but that's just theorying with no evidence.
Diamond armor is the same. I think just putting in Diamond boots and Diamond helmets would be good enough, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Any thing to give more variety in combat would be good, so a thumbs up for this idea.

I agree with potions full stop, they would give combat more variety and (since I'm pretty sure that tnt is not going in) I think that there should be AoE attacks to help fight teams, such as Katniss's use of the Tracker Jacker nest against the careers.

After playing Project Ares and getting mutilated by someone who's using the new apple, I'd say no.
Although, the advantages of having them is limitless, and that's why I ultimately agree with this.
