Rebranding CA Servers

It's obvious that CA servers barely get any traffic these days. My suggestion is to rebrand CA as "East US," as people who live on the east coast get significantly better ping to CA servers, compared to US servers. The most populous city in the US, New York City, is on the east coast, which has to have many MCSG players. Rebranding CA as "East US" will bring much more traffic to the ghosttown-like CA servers.

As silly as this may sound, it's actually pretty clever.
Although, they should probably keep the CA ips, and if someone connects using them to just send them a message with the new IPs.
Also, they would have to maintain the CA/eUS servers more - as it stands, they're not given as much love as the other regions, particularly the existing US and EU server regions. eUS could very well be nearly as popular as the current US servers, if it was properly exposed.

I used to join CA so much in the past. Since I live in California I always thought CA standed for Califaornia. So smart.
But I really like the idea of this, because if no action is taken and the traffic to CA decreases, will cause CA to shut down just like AS.

Not gonna happen, CA is CA for a reason. We're Canadian. Advertising it as "East US" wont do anything - Frankly it will destroy the small community we have. I like CA the way it is, empty. Everyone there knows eachother, for example when you join a game and see your arch nemesis (which is quite often) you will usually fight, but that wont happen in the US servers.

You may like CA empty, but many of its players dislike having to wait 10+ minutes for a game. Sometimes there's literally no games running, so it is impossible to play. Plus, if a map is chosen that I dislike, I either have to play on the map or wait another 10+ minutes for another game.

It is also uneconomical for MCSG to keep CA empty; it's just a waste of servers, and therefore money, that are empty most of the time. Do you want CA to get shutdown like AS was? Because it looks like that's where it's headed.

If the CA servers are touched at all, I'm leaving. It was where I learned to PVP, it was where I first starting winning, and I will not let it be touched. CA is CA, and no other. I will not let the US Overtake what we have - Even something trivial as a name. Its Canadas sake and why should it be touched? We have a network for a reason, it was popular not long ago. We can bring it back under CA.

false; If you were here when CA opened, we had 8 servers. One box for 25 servers? They use one 32gb dedi now, but they can downgrade to a 16.

I remember a post by Dave regarding AS servers that it would be impossible to do that; I would assume CA would be the same, but whatever.

Isn't that what happened with AS? They put all but two servers under "maintenance" but then shut down the region anyway. If history were to repeat itself, that's what will happen to CA.
