So I recently got a new computer along with new internet. I went to play Minecraft and the launcher took 10 minutes to load and whenever everything was loaded it would just close for a split seconds and reopen to the screen on the launcher that said 'Play'. It said that 'Had local file but was wrong size' And I reinstalled Java, rebooted my PC and nothing happened... I can't find a solution! HALP ME!

This thread has been moved to the 'General Support' forum as it is more fitting there.

Have you tried allocating more ram?
follow superkai64 and dedotate more wam to ur minecraft

In all seriousness, try dedicating more RAM to Minecraft as goldlabgaming said, or try re-installing the launcher; if this doesn't work, try deleting .minecraft (backing up saves and whatever else is precious to you) and running Minecraft again (this will create a new .minecraft folder; hopefully free of problems).

Just in case you don't know, to allocate more RAM:
  • Open Minecraft.
  • Click Edit profile (bottom left).
  • Tick the check-box next to "JVM Arguments".
  • Type in "-Xmx#G" (without speech marks).
The # I inserted can be replaced by a number in gigabytes of your choice, I would recommend it being half of your total RAM.
If the issue persisted, try searching the crash into Google, if no results show I would recommend contacting someone who knows about this stuff and providing them with the full crash report.

If this doesn't work try, uninstalling and re-installing Minecraft. Maybe some files become corrupt on installation.
