I have a suggestion to cut down on betrayal for teams. You could add a "/team <PlayerName>" command, that sends a request to the player, and the player could respond with "/team <PlayerName> <Accept/Deny>" So if multiple send a request you can team with only certain people. Just a suggestion.

I'm sorry, newb, but this has already be suggested before, and denied. and besides, betrayal is fun :) and sadly underused.

Betrayal is part of the game. Team with someone you think you can trust or get betrayed. You say it like betrayal is an issue on MCSG. It is a component of the game silleh.

This is a good idea, provided that friendly fire is still on and the only difference is the name colour, so you can recognise your team. There needs to be betrayal, that is a key part of the game, and definitely should not be removed.

betrayal shall be punished, by me stabbing my sword through my teammate, but never shall i be defeated by a backstabber.

Betrayal is part of the game.
Deal with it.

Teaming would make the game more war like and Good. This server is designed to be a savage, all out bloodbath. Not an army, warzone battle

Even if i think this is a good idea, and i hate being betrayed myself, I would not agree with this being implemented since, as many have already stated, betrayal is just part of the games, and if people couldnt do this it would just feel less realistic. ;)

Also, people just could ignore this and team up just by asking themselves on the chat :p

If you don't betray teammates, then you can't kill them in DM. Betrayal is a part of the game, it keeps it moving. So here's a little chart over the effects of a rule pointed in that direction-

Game without teaming rule-
"Okay, ready to fight? It's DM, only one can win."
Someone wins and the game restarts..

Game with teaming rule-
"Uh, what happens now? It's DM, but since we are teamed we can't kill each other. Should we suicide?"
"No! The spectators want action!"
"But we can't fight!"
5 minutes later, nobody wins and the game was terribly boring.

Me: Fyi. I am a spy *backstab
