Would you like to see more prestigious forum ranks implemented?

So here at MCSG, we have many ingame ranks (i.e donor ranks, member ranks, staff and special ranks) but only two ranks based on legitimate forum activity. Once you reach 100 messages you are rewarded the "member" rank as opposed to the "New Member" rank. Then again once you reach 1,000 messages and 500 likes you are awarded "Active Member".

However the MCSG forums have been around for two years now. Lots of people have had natural time to be active, post, and achieve their Active Member rank on the forums.

Here is my proposal. I believe it would benefit the community if we were to add more prestigious ranks I succession to the Active Member. People in their human nature need something to strive for, no matter how much fun something may be. For most, that striving is to get Active Member. However it is a reoccurrence that once some people reach this, they sort of fade away from the forums. I know I did originally. Wouldn't it draw people back and spark a newfound sense of achievement if we added more ranks to the MCSG Forums?

I believe so. What about all those super active people (i.e RC_4777, HalfSquirrel, TheCornStealer, duckluv321, Mamiamato24 | Azurdo) and others that have been active and supportive members of this community for a long time now and have well over 10,000 messages and likes? On the forums, their activity is recognized as if it were the same as someone like me who may be active, but certainly not as much.

Essentially, what I'm saying is that we add ranks among the form of this. Of course these wrecker estimates and educated guesses, they can be tweaked and are not set numbers.

~ 5000 posts & 2000 likes | Maybe named "Veteran" or something. Above the normal Member titles.

~ 10000 posts & 3500-4500 likes | Quite possibly a "Noble" rank or something.

~ 20000 posts | "Legend"

I am also under the impression ChadTheDJ is planning something along the lines of a forum upgrade ^.^ with some innovative web designers. The time is ripe, the community is in need of some forum excitement!

Thank you for reading this. Good for you if you read it all c:

If it can be implemented into the Xenforo software, I don't see why not. 20,000 post award might trigger a bit of spamming, but it wouldn't be that bad.

I would love to see some new ranks awarding people for achieving certain milestones, but I am a bit reluctant to jump on the bandwagon since they might provoke/prompt spamming, like active member already does. Cool idea, though (active member's getting a bit old, isn't it? :p).

Yes I figured spamming may be a problem, but honestly we already have a bit of spam and it doesn't seem to be TOO much of a bother.

If you make an award for anything over 1,500 likes you are begging for like spam.

I mean, if you can have the donor rank transfer automatically to the forums, couldn't you have your post-count and stuff transfer to the server? (Note, I truly have no idea about server to forums stuff and vice-verse)
