All of a sudden dead.

I have been experiencing a problem lately on mcsg. If I am getting chased and I run away and the player is like 5+ blocks away from me, as I am running all of a sudden I am dead and I have no clue what just happened. This has happen to me like 10 times ina row and I have not played since because I just keep on dieing for no reason. My hearts dont go down and I dont see myself getting hit, I am just instantly dead with no warning. Please tell me what this is.

I don't know what it is. It hasn't happened to me before, but I've heard that it's been happening. My guess is that it's lag, but I'm not sure.

This is Ghosting. Welcome to the Ocean of Ghosting Rage.
Basically what happens is the player who is chasing just sees you standing still. He is able to easily kill you. On your screen you are running freely around, unaware of what is ACTUALLY happening.
Do you ever see people like frozen and they don't get knocked back, well this is what you were doing at the time.
Ghosting is trying to be fixed. You can also try /ghost, but it doesn't work that well.
That is all I can really say on this.

Once I was playing and died for no reason (I wasn't even near anyone.) It was like I was /kill-ed. Another time I insta-died because I jumped down into water and even though I landed a good 6-8 blocks away from a boat it still insta-killed me (boat's hitboxes are kinda glitchy.)

Yup, it's ghosting.
Here's a quote from a PSA that JennoKoala wrote a while back:

• Ghosting is characterized by your avatar or player being stuck in one place, while your camera continues to move around. This results in other players being able to attack and kill you, while you are stuck wondering what’s hitting you. You are also unable to attack other players and interact with chests or anything else while ghosted, unless you are within range of where your avatar is stuck.
• CAUSE: This is simply a Minecraft bug that we are working on to prevent, we may or may not find a set in stone solution but there are many temporary ways it can be prevented. This happens on many Minecraft servers, and is not only an MCSG issue.

• SOLUTION: Ghosting can be temporarily solved by typing in “/ghostfix” (Or “/gf” for a shorter command), but if it happens once, it could happen multiple times. It can also be solved by re-logging, but that is an impractical way to solve it on MCSG, as once you log out you cannot come back into the game.

If you are ghosting do /gf. It is the command for ghost fixing. What it does is tp's you to where you are in the server if you are frozen. Hope I could help

The best way to tell if you are ghosting is looking at the clock on the right of your screen. If it suddenly stops you are probably ghosting.

It is known as lag back or ghosting. Sometimes you can do /gf and it will work.
