Just to note, I'm not asking for actual in-game created teams whereas friendly fire is off. Which obviously will never happen.
This idea is not inspired by Battlefield, or is it... well - they have a tab on their battlelog, called what I believe Platoons. Practically teams of people who play together, some platoons are organized as heck.
The way the idea would go in action would require a fair bit of coding, I believe... creating a 'Teams' or 'Clans' tab on the website. I know servers can send information the the leader boards and server list, for example, I'm not sure if it's possible the other way around but I believe it is so.
On this 'Clans' page we could have a list of currently existing Clans and the option to create your own. This would remove the need for having recruitment threads in the Clans and Teams sub-forum, but it could be used for discussion/tactics.
The Teams would have the ability to set 2-5 letter tags, that would work like:
(1566)SPEC:[LEGIT]ShaunDepro97 (Seems Legit clan)
or
(6771)SPEC:[APEX]SixZoSeven (or wutever he decides his team name to be.. )
Or we can just get it manual by doing like /reqtag MCSG or something.
Or we can leave it as it is and be unknown and boring. 3:
