Lots of people have their avatar as a girl because a lot of people think that girls tend to get liked spammed more than guys. So a few people changed their avatar to a girl as a joke, and then more people saw it and and started doing it and so on and so on

A lot more girls get like spammed than guys... So the logic is there, regardless of whether it's sexist or not.
