Why a Wooden Sword is better than a Stone Ax

Really, if you don't block hit, and it's not a very watery map, I don't think it makes much difference. Block hitting and blocking arrows are the only things blocking is really used for (in my case anyway, though I don't block hit).

Pros to swords:
You can block

Pros to Axes:
They look heavier and better than weak-looking wooden swords


Axes do have a higher durability than swords, get your facts straight :p A stone axe has a durability of 132, divided by 2 that makes 66. A wooden sword only has a durability of 60. So it's only a small difference.
But remember, the blocking can compensate for that small disadvantage.

Wood sword: Block hits and blocking arrows.
Stone Axe: Looks scarier and stronger than wooden sword, some noobs think axe is better than wood sword. Better durability. I don't know if this is true but I heard axes can swing faster?
