What is a clan?

So, I'm new to this server and the forums and I've been seeing tons of clan application threads. I really would like to know what it is and what gamemode. Thanks ​

A clan:
Group of people with a strong common interest


In this case, a clan is a group of players who are allied with each other. They help each other train, learn more about the game, and they also battle with other clans.
Some clans are rather large and "prestigious" (if you can even call a clan prestigious..) and others are new or small. Generally, the bigger the clan is, the more wins you have to have in order to successfully apply. Larger clans often ask for 400+ wins to enter (It's an estimate, not factual), and smaller ones require less.
Two years ago, you only needed 30 wins to get into the top 3 clans, but as the game gets older, more people have a higher amount of wins, and so clans raise their standards.

Clans are usually for Survival Games, MCGamer's #1 Gamemode. However, with a bit of searching you can probably find clans for some of the other gamemodes.
