It seems like everyone just HATES this map with a passion. Whenever it shows up, the lobby is full of "SKIP" spam, and when it does get chosen, people keep saying "THIS MAP SUCKS" every time before the game starts. Now I personally really like this map. What is it that makes you guys hate this map so much?

I hate it due to the only tier 2's are in the corn, so if you can not get refill or stuff at the start you're majorly behind, and the corn is kinda glitchy. I jump down from spawn at refill or just at the start and die when landing in the water, it rarely happens but when it does it just ruins the map for me.

I think most people don't like it because it a rather large map which then creates lag for them, unlike smaller maps. imo

Since everyone seems to be so confused, I've made this reference that should clear everything up.

Seriously though, I like SG5. The lack of tier 2's (sans corn) means a more even playing field. Mixed leather/metal armor and an iron sword should be your pre-restock goal, not full iron and a diamond sword (lol SG4).

Oh wow, all these pictures/gifs you get.

You should make a handy guide thread.

this is a very insightful reference...
it has changed my life :)

And also, SG5 is a relatively good map, but obviously a new map is very difficult to get used to and this is defintely not the best map Team Vareide has produced, they can do better

Getting used to any map in 5 easy steps:
  1. Download map
  2. Open it in a map viewer
  3. Explore it, build a route
  4. Use a map editor to change it to creative mode OR use a modded version of MC to switch instead
  5. Practice running your route, test out the redstone stuff, etc.

Or spectate some who does have a route (me :D) and use that one
