If you get 150+ fps on your ultrabook, I'd say keep playing on the ultrabook, and find a way to cool the system from an external source. There are TONS of laptop coolers out there.

Dis. Dis right here.

FPS is fine, if you're recording you should still get at least 80 FPS on a laggy map, assuming you don't use extremely resource-intensive settings or anything.
If it's just the heat, then all you really need to do is find a way to quickly, effectively, and easily....
chill the @#$% down.
And of course, it's a laptop so it's best if it can be carried easily.

They look pretty cheap and easy to carry, just find one that's right for you and whatnot. Way under $1000 :p

But, but, my Radeon card does fairly well, especially considering the price ;-;
They're an okay card for Minecraft, and yes, the price is reasonable, but honestly I'd spend the extra $30 to get that Nvidia card that he wants. Radeon cards aren't very stable for bigger games.

Well he didn't really specify that he was going to play higher end games, but, my Radeon card performs fairly good on higher end games. My 7790 runs at a constant 60+ FPS on BF3 in 1080p and high settings.

Good choice with Windows 7, windows 8 is awful everything is app based.
Hmm... I'd have to disagree with you. Me being an experienced windows user (95 - 8.1 pro, yes, I've used each one for 95) I can tell you that windows 8 isn't that bad. Don't get me wrong, Windows 7 is a great OS, it is the most stable OS in Windows history, but but but..... Windows 8 boots up much faster than 7, I literately have to only press the on button and it'll be ready within 10secs, with 7, its more like 30sec - 1 min.

"Everything is app based", not sure what you mean. I'm able to run .exe files just fine, I don't use the app store at all. All those tiles at the start, is just a neater short-cut icons, instead of having them all cluttered up on your desktop, you have them nice and neatly lined up on your start window. I like it.

"Has to be touch screen" Nah, I use the old school mouse and keyboard, it works great.
Overall, Windows 8 is half a flop, its a flop for the tablet (not the surface pro, they did well with adding .exe support) and phone. But for the desktop, its nice to use. Still better than Vista.
