What do you think of this computer + any way to make money quick?

Hey all,

Right now I play MC on an Acer Aspire Timeline U, which is an ultrabook NOT made for gaming. I get 150-300fps on lowest settings and with optifine. That's not too bad, but as it's an ultrabook it over heats when it runs MC for an hour +. So I went onto a website and had a look at building my own computer. This is what I've come up with: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/AMooseMan3/saved/#savedbuild_663158 . I'd love any opinions from you guys, and especially if I've missed out an important part.

Now if I do end up buying this, I'm going to need money, which is something I don't have since I don't get paid much for chores. Does anybody have any idea on how to make money fast? (I'm not talking $1,000 in a month, more like 6+ months.)

Cheers,

You should definitely consider something more into your price range. There's no way to make money quick unless you get a job or you inherit money from you distant uncle.

Best way is probably a job if possible. I mean if you can get at least $15 per hour (AUD) you'd collect around $135 per week, or if you are paid fortnightly it'd be around $250. Quite quick cash for a teenager.

If I was old enough I would have a job, but in NZ you can't get a job legally until you're 16 I believe.

Wow, that's ridiculous. You get a job here in Tasmania when you're 13 at least (but that's like only Maccas) and 14-15 for other places.

M'kay, this is what I got. Much more bang for your buck: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/ImNotGoodWithUsernames/saved/2PQd
The parts are pretty different from on the Canadian PartPicker so I was a bit confused, I wanted to put an x4 750k in there but it wasn't there xP
Any way, some tips for building:
-Always buy packs of 2 ram sticks, running them in a dual channel is faster.
-Unless you are running on a wireless connection you do not need a network adapter, that motherboard I picked is the same one as mine so I know that it's fairly good for the price :p
-You don't need a soundcard, 99.9999999% of motherboards come with integrated sound, unless you have REALLY good headphones you won't notice a difference.
-The WD Caviar Blue is a good hard drive for the price, I have experience with them and I've had no problems so far.
-NEVER cheap out on the power supply, remember, it is what is changing the dangerous AC power to safe DC power for your sensitive computer parts, also, more expensive isn't always better. I don't personally have experience with this PSU but I have friends that do.
-You don't need a CPU cooler or more fans unless you plan on overclocking.
-Don't buy expensive peripherals right off the bat (the Deathadder and Deathstalker), use what you have at hand, and use that money to buy them later unless you have the money. I put a keyboard in there since you were playing on a laptop I'm guessing you need one. It's the one I use (the C doesn't work unless I ram down on it, but otherwise, it's and okay keyboard).
-Buy a 64 bit OS. Always. ALWAYS.

Anyway, hope this post helps :D

I'm building a computer in about a week or so, currently I'm playing on 20fps with optifine and lowest settings. Good choice with Windows 7, windows 8 is awful everything is app based. I agree buy your peripherals after when you have the money. By the way there is no harm in trying on eBay for anything other than the monitor (most one's on ebay have dead pixels) you can pick up a PSU and motherboard cheaply. Money-wise, it might be a long-shot but you could try YouTube and getting an AdSense partnership. I'm not too sure how much you earn. Good luck anyway! xD

Thank you for the info, I'll make sure to have a look at everything you brought up. Good luck with your computer!
