unknown host error

am i doing something wrong here?
i put the ip in that the server page tells me it is
EX: us35.mcsg
or
EX: us35.mcsg.in

but i keep getting the unknown host error.
please could somebody explain what im doing wrong? or better yet just help me with this
it would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same issue. I clicked your link kaiomann, and i did exacly what is said. But now minecraft says that it cannot connect to the server instead of "unknown host". I am on minecraft version 1.5.2
